G2NA currently has two papers published, authored by G2NA Steering Group members:
The Global Landscape of Nursing and Genomics
Calzone KA. Kirk M, Tonkin E, Badzek L, Benjamin C, Middleton A (2018) The Global Landscape of Nursing and Genomics. Journal of Nursing Scholarship https://doi.org/10.1111/jnu.12380
Reports on the survey conducted with the G2NA Retreat participants as a starting point for the establishment of G2NA. The paper assesses nursing’s preparedness to integrate genomics into policy, practice and education. This provides useful context into the capacity for and challenges around integration. The paper is published as Open Access via PubMed.
Increasing Nursing Genomic Literacy: Overview of Existing Global Genomic Resources
Calzone K, Kirk M, Tonkin E, Badzek L, Benjamin C, Middleton A (2018) Increasing nursing capacity in genomics: Overview of existing global genomics resources. Nurse Education Today https://doi.org/10.1016/j.nedt.2018.06.032
Using a survey approach to identify existing global genomic resources and competencies, identifying the source, type and accessibility for nurses. We found that the genomic resources that already exist are not readily accessible or discoverable to the international nursing community and as such are underutilised. However, the inventory will be useful in providing a foundation for a global genomic resource initiative led by G2NA. Paper available as Open Access via the PubMed.gov portal.
Participants at the G2NA Retreat in 2017 were invited to present posters outlining nursing and genetics/ genomics in their country or organisation. Click to view the Poster Binder showing the collection of the posters displayed.
