Papers on A Roadmap for Global Acceleration of Genomics Integration Across Nursing and A Maturity Matrix for Nurse Leaders to Facilitate and Benchmark Progress in Genomic Healthcare Policy, Infrastructure, Education, and Delivery are published.

We are delighted that G2NA now has two more papers published that have been authored by G2NA Steering Group members and build on our previous work detailed in The Global Landscape of Nursing and Genomics and Increasing Nursing Capacity in Genomics: Overview of Existing Global Genomics Resources

Both new papers are puplished in the Journal of Nursing Scholarship.

A Roadmap for Global Acceleration of Genomics Integration Across Nursing brings together the evidence detailed in our other publications and generated in partnership with G2NA participants, to propose a practical roadmap to guide the integration of genomics across practice that is adaptable to both local health systems and clinical and educational context. The paper is Open Access.

The manuscript A Maturity Matrix for Nurse Leaders to Facilitate and Benchmark Progress in Genomic Healthcare Policy, Infrastructure, Education, and Delivery details the development and pilot testing of this tool. G2NA participants from 19 countries and major nursing organisations contributed in defining the “core essential elements for effective nursing which promotes health outcomes globally through genomics”. From this information the tool, containing 55 items across 6 domains, was constructed. When completing the tool (online or paper-based) users select from a 5 point scale for each item to provide an assessment for their orgnaisation or country. Information provided within ASIGN can then be used to plan and chart a course for improvement and implementation. The paper is Open Access.
